As a member of CUPE Local 79 you deserve more.

On November 27, 2023, you will have the opportunity to have your say in our Local’s elections. This time you get to elect a new group of officers — a team that will take our membership through the next round of bargaining and rebuild the Local over the next three years.

We are thrilled to be running with a group united behind a vision for our Local — to bring change and deliver better outcomes for members.

Together, we are committed to bargaining for higher wages that keep up with inflation, better benefits and more reliable scheduling for part-time workers. We will push to get work-from-home and hybrid work language into our Collective Agreements and to create more permanent higher-paying jobs for our members.

It’s disappointing that getting a call back from our Union has become so difficult. Better services for members start with a more responsive executive. We'll reach out to you on an ongoing basis and make sure you have answers to the most commonly asked questions pertaining your work. We'll make ourselves available to you to make the Local and its resources fully accessible.

We are committed to making sure our Local is fiscally responsible by eliminating the current budget deficit and adopting best practices to get us back on track.

Together, we can bring change to CUPE Local 79 and deliver better results. Our team is ready to get to work, but change is only attainable if members vote on Monday, November 27, 2023.
