Better Bargaining Outcomes

  • Bargaining for wages that matches the rising cost of living and the effects of Inflation

  • Standing up for part-time workers and demanding better wages, reliable scheduling and benefits from their employer(s)

  • Getting work-from-home and hybrid work scheduling language into our collective agreements

  • Enforce current Collective Agreement language to create more full-time, permanent jobs for members who are in temporary positions.

  • Finalize and distribute our collective agreements in a more timely manner and make them more accessible to our members

Better Service for Members

  • We promise to call you back! We will ensure an appropriate response time from the Union on all inquiries.

  • Ensure all parties adhere to the required timelines for grievances so members' concerns can be brought forward in a timely and effective manner.

  • Establishing a practice of holding labor management meetings with all employers and its divisions to ensure members' concerns are addressed in a timely manner.  

  • Provide FAQs for questions on common topics such as vacation time, sick time, benefits and pensions.

  • Better oversight over our job classifications and the wage rates assigned to them through an enhanced Job Evaluation Committee.

  • Better communications to members, more outreach and opportunities to participate in your Union's activities, such as committees, conventions and training.

  • Enhance our Stewards and Health and Safety Representative training

Financial Accountability and Transparency

  • Better management and control of members dues to eliminate the current budget  deficits at the Local

  • Regular financial audits to be performed ensuring appropriate spending against the budget

  • Update the Union's by-laws to ensure accountability and transparency measures become a foundation of this Local.

Equity, Respect and Fairness

  • Create and restore committees that will help serve equity-deserving members of our Union and broader communities

  • Ensure all members are welcomed to engage and participate with the union in a harassment free space.
